NEW CLUB - IQ Tennis is now at Glenhuntly!
We are excited about the new arrangement between IQ Tennis and the Glenhuntly Tennis Club.
With the end of daylight savings we have relocated our training from Punt road courts to Glenhuntly Tennis club. The club has 4 courts with lights and we look forward to commencing at Glenhuntly Tennis Club in term 2.
Term 2 Programs for IQ Tennis

Please note term 2 is an extended school term and makes up for the short term 1 period. Fees will not be increased per week but the overall fee will be greater as term 2 coaching will run for a greater number of weeks.

In our recent coaches meeting it was decided that the certain groups would now be working with a different curriculum that is focused specifically on readiness for competition. This will include court etiquette, scoring, match play strategy and appropriate behaviour and manners for playing competition tennis. As usual this will be delivered in a fun learning environment that will introduce the players to a new experience in readiness for playing competition in the next season if they choose.
There is a large range of coaching opportunities and services offered by IQ Tennis.
Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements.

Tennis Coaching pays off! Holiday Tournaments

The coaches at IQ Tennis have been visiting the tournaments and keeping an eye on the progress of our students. It has been a great opportunity to see the players adapt their skills in a well rounded on court competitive game. Coaching is important when it comes to competition. The players who have worked hard and focussed on learning as much as possible during their coaching sessions are really excelling. Players are reporting that the enjoyment of the competition is far greater and not always measured purely by the results. We know by the ball toss if it will be a good serve, and hence when the game is over we know if we have played well. Congratulations to all our players who have participated in tournaments at Dingley, Eastern Region, Frankston and to those who have travelled to the National Grass courts Tournament at Mildura.

BOORT Easter Tournament

What an Easter with every season imaginable! We went with the Centenary Park Tennis club to Boort for the Easter Tournament. We camped in tents and sat by the open fire in the evenings discussing outcomes of the day’s games and competitors. We endured 2 thunderstorms with one tent coming down, but overall the event was a huge success. Congratulations to all the winners and grinners who took away fantastic prizes such as cutlery sets and extension leads. Special thanks to Jane Stevens for her home made tomato sauce, a must for a diet of BBQ’s when camping.

IQ TENNIS TACKERS

Ron will continue with Saturday morning coaching and Monday afternoons.
See the photo gallery for shots of Term 1 end of term certificate awards.
We look forward to seeing all out tackers back in term 2.

Congratulations

Congratulations Sebastian Bell on getting your level 1 Tennis Coaching qualification.
Sebastian has a profile on the website as he is one of our fabulous coaches. Sebastian has reduced his commitment to IQ Tennis in the short term as he focuses on his year 12 study commitments.
His experience as a touring player in competition has ensured his discipline and commitment are all on track for a great year 12 results. We wish you all the best for a great year and applaud your initiative to attain your coaching qualification at such a young age.

Congratulations Elle, Paris, Marina and Victoria.
What an impact this young group have made as they compete in club competition at Centenary Park Tennis Club for the first time!
Their coaching regime and personal commitment to training is evident in the outcomes of the results to date. This young group of 10 year olds are making their mark in both singles and doubles competition. We expect some very exciting times ahead.
Well done girls, you are a great team!

IQ Tennis and ANZ enjoy a fantastic corporate day!

As with all events the biggest concern is the enjoyment of the participants and the weather conditions. Melbourne turned on its typical 4 seasons in one day for the corporate event held at Albert Park Tennis Courts. It was an honour to be joined in the hosting of the ANZ corporate tennis event by Fred Stolle, former tennis champion and legend of the game.
Fred never missed a beat with his skill and agility and no one will forget the entertainment he bought to his commentary role during the event. Thanks Fred for reminding us how important it is to enjoy tennis and have many laughs along the way, no matter how professional you may be. Thanks to all the IQ Tennis coaches who went with the flow as we adjusted the agenda with every weather change. It was a great day, enjoyed by all.
For all corporate event enquiries contact: Tricia Keltie- Business Marketing Manager 0417 320 823
