IQ Tennis Tackers

15 September 2007

At IQ Tennis we set out to be the optimum provider of “Tackers Tennis”. This is the name we have given to our junior development programs for children 4 – 9 yrs of age.

The evidence of skill and development was astounding to us all. Parents, coaches, and club members alike have commented on the individuals development in all the tackers programs. The confidence and participation has improved for each and every child.

This spurt of skill development has required us to reshuffle some groups to target on skill level and to enhance growth. Whilst we identify age is a common starting point, we have no restriction for children who are demonstrating a significant aptitude for the sport of Tennis. Having said this we have now formed a semi private group of 9 year old girls who will work together in term 4 with the view to competition play in 2008.

The one person who was not surprised was Craig Miller. He knew from day 1 that by offering a periodised program to be deliveredby all coaches, there would be these accountable outcomes.

“It is essential to make the tennis experience exciting every time” says Craig. The children must learn a new concept and have fun at the same time. “It is wonderful to be able to identify children who have showed particular skill development and in turn offer them a more challenging program.”

IQ Tennis would like to thank all the Parents who are supporting their child to learn the game of Tennis. It is definitely a life sport that can be

picked up at any time. It provides social enhancement and provides opportunities to meet new friends. As the IT world continues to dominate the routines of our children it is important to include a healthy life balance. We look forward to continuing and growing our relationship in term 4 with all Parents and friends of IQ Tennis.
